Christ Church Students’ Union

CCSU is the Students’ Union for Canterbury Christ Church University, and is largely a city based union.

In 2015, SU Network and CCSU entered a Business Development services partnership, which proved to be hugely successful in developing a model that SU Network would later transfer to future partners. CCSU’s previous in-house set up had not been cost effective, and by partnering with SU Network they were able to both reduce costs and increase sales income. By negotiating higher rates on existing contracts and securing a lucrative sponsorship covering all CCSU sports teams, SU Network managed to double sales income in the first three years.

CCSU also took advantage of the developments to our model during the partnership, such as gaining access to our finance support service when this was introduced in 2018. With a new central SU space opening in 2021 and in line with their strategy, CCSU commenced managing Business Development services in house from the 2020/21 academic year, and were able to do so with a comprehensive and robust sales process and client base that had developed over the past five years.

Surrey Students’ Union

SU Network started working with Surrey SU in 2019, with this being the first partner we offered full finance support, invoice and payment chasing services to from the beginning of the agreement.

Having previously outsourced their marketing sales, what was most reassuring for Surrey SU was the transparency in reporting monthly sales figures, and the efficiency in sending and receiving payments. In year one, the sales target was surpassed within the first six months, with the finance and invoicing target soon following. We have worked with both existing Surrey SU clients and developed new relationships, working closely with the SU team to both deliver a first class service to these clients, whilst evaluating new potential sales channels to increase income in the coming years.
